Week in Review with Alexa Rankin - 11/26/11

Hi everyone, my name is Alexa Rankin and I was the winner of the Slap the Penguin guest post contest. Ian C invited me to join the team and my role for now is to write a weekly review of the news and the headlines that caught my eye during the previous 7 days.

Amy Adams' Red Carpet Fashion
Amy Adams has been busy promoting her new movie, "The Muppets", with co-star Jason Segel which premiered this last Wednesday. Amy sported a number of different dresses during her many appearences leading up to the big show. The redheaded Miss Adams wore her natural hair color so that it matched the carpet.

Idol stars flub their lines
Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina both made very public musical mistakes this week. Lauren pulled an Aguilera and forgot the words to the National Anthem while singing before Thursday's Lions-Packers game. Meanwhile, Scotty McCreery missed his cue while lip syncing during the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and his recorded voice began while he was still waving to the crowds.

Black Friday Madness
Thanksgiving Thursday is all about Macy's, and Black Friday is about Mace. A woman shopping the Black Friday sales in an LA Walmart pepper sprayed fellow shoppers in order to get to the discounted X-Box games she had been waiting in line for. 20 people were injured during the incident, some of them directly from the spray, but the majority of them from the crush of people avoiding the assault. She turned herself in, and has been released until police decide whether to charge her.

NBA lockout almost ended
It looks likely that the NBA 2011 season will commence on Christmas Day after a 149 day lockout. Many NBA players have had to find alternate means of keeping themselves busy while being unable to play basketball. Some turned to other sports, while others offered themselves for community service. One desperate NBA star even spent half of the 21 week lockout as a married man in order to keep himself occupied.
Double Dribble?
Thanks for stopping by to catch my weekly review. I would love to read your comments below, so let me know what you think. I am Alexa Rankin and this is the Week in Review.
