By Brad Naylor

There are many reddits full of fan theories regarding Disney's latest SWU hit, The Mandalorian. One of the latest and least believable is that 'Baby Yoda' is actually baby Yoda. Confused? Keep reading and I will really mess with your mind...

Grey is unleashed on the general public

By +Brad Naylor

June 18th saw the release of the fourth book in E.L. James' 50 Shades of Grey series, 'Grey'. Rather than taxing her mind and challenging her writing 'talent', Ms. James opted to retell the first story through the eyes of billionaire bondagemeister, and hero of the first three books, Christian Grey.

50 Shades of Grey- The Animated Series

By +Alexa Rankin

With the success of the E.L. James novels and the movie raking in over $250 million at the worldwide box office, the 50 shades franchise is definitely a money spinner. At least that's exactly what a small production company in Reno, NV are hoping for. Christasia Productions have signed an exclusive deal to produce 2 seasons of an animated show based on characters from the 50 Shades universe.

By +Brad Naylor

British actor and star of the movies 'Dead Fish' and 'Tiptoes', Gary Leonard Oldman celebrates his 57th birthday today. Just as music producer George Martin vowed never to use the same sound twice, Gary Oldman stands by his decision to never wear the same haircut twice (unless it's a sequel).

The hot new craze of Swifting

By +Sue Casa

I am sure you all remember 'planking', when people would post pictures on their facebook page of them lying flat, face down and rigid in the most awkward and silly place possible. And then of course there was 'owling' which didn't quite get the same recognition, but involved people perching in an owl pose and again posting the evidence to facebook. Our American readers may also be familiar with 'Tebowing' which, I am told, lasted almost as long as his career. It seems that all of those ridiculous trends have been firmly placed in the archives, but a new trend is sweeping the nation. That trend is known as...

Minecraft Nazi strategy guide discovered

By +Brad Naylor

The game of Minecraft continues to take the world by storm with an estimated 20,000 new players every day, pushing the total number of registered users beyond 50 million. This makes the world of Minecraft a lucrative business indeed, but not without potential pitfalls. In recent months there have been an increasing number of complaints that hate groups are attempting to use Minecraft as a recruiting tool.

Kenny Chesney launches his own theme park

By +Alexa Rankin

Country music star Kenny Chesney has been fairly quiet for the past few years, only raising his head briefly to promote his 'by the numbers' albums, and with good reason as it turns out. Kenny has been working on a country themed destination in Nashville called ChesneyLand.

The spell that was NOT in the Potter movies

By +Tina Cruris

The Harry Potter saga covers seven books and eight movies, and not once was this spell ever known to be used. It's existence was as mythical as the Deathly Hallows until a young wizard happened across it in a book from the restricted section of the library at Hogwarts.

Captain America - World's Lamest Superhero

By +Brad Naylor

I felt it necessary to follow up on a comment from one of our readers on my Top 10 Superheroes post. A person calling himself Steve Rogers said "What about Captain America. He is an awesome superhero. He would kick anyone's ass." Well that's bullshit. Captain America is probably the worst superhero in the world. In my opinion he barely qualifies as a hero, without the 'super' prefix.

The tightest slot in Las Vegas

by +Ian C

The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino has been a popular destination on the Las Vegas strip since it opened it's doors in 1993. The imaginatively named 'Leo' the lion stands guard at the front entrance of The Strip's 2nd largest casino to greet the hapless gamblers, while the world famous bright green stripes on the outside of the hotel illuminate the night.

Bye Bye Flappy Bird

By +Tina Cruris

What is Flappy Bird? Seriously, you don't know? Flappy Bird is the latest game to take mobile devices by storm. It is notoriously difficult and as a result desperately addictive. Flappy bird has also been the target of a lot of anger across social media outlets because of it's simple difficulty. Now the creator of Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen has pulled the game from iTunes and Google Play. Some say that it is because of the negativity that surrounded the game and some say it is because he wants to make more money.

Doctor Who celebrates 50 years

by +Ian C

50 years and 11 faces ago, Doctor Who made his first ever television appearance, the first of many. In total nearly 800 episodes have been screened, covering 239 stories. Each story revolves around The Doctor travelling into a troubled area of time and space with a hapless assistant, discovering that some alien race is messing around with stuff, then putting things right using wit, guile and a sonic screwdriver.

Science proves that there are only 33 shades of grey

by +Tina Cruris

Fifty Shades of Grey my ass. Don't get fooled by the hype of the book series and the forthcoming movie (early 2015), there are only 33 shades of grey which can be distinguished by the human eye. In theory, photoshop can generate 256 shades of grey (so i'm told) but I can't tell the difference between #666666 and #676767.

Bubes Says... Maybe now they will respect me as a serious artist

Hello, it's me again, the one and only Bubes. Boy I have had such a rough week and it's only Tuesday. I know I am a day early but I could not wait to show you what I have been up to. I had to stand in for Miley Cyrus at the VMA's on Sunday because she had too much to drink and passed out in her dressing room.

April Fool Apologies

On behalf of everybody at Slap the Penguin, we would like to apologize for the thoughtless and dangerous April Fools prank we played yesterday. We are all truly saddened by what happened and our thoughts go out to all the people involved in the incident. None of us actually thought that we, as a satirical news blog who constantly put comedy before everything else (including the truth), would be taken at our word, and that people out there would actually attempt what we fictionally reported on.
