Hollywood has again been rocked by racism as "The Academy" is called out for not nominating a single black person for an award. An ever growing list of black stars are threatening to boycott this years Academy Awards, leaving host, Chris Rock, as the only black person in the Dolby (née Kodak) Theater. Jada Pinkett Smith was so furious about her husband, Will, being blackballed (metaphorically speaking) that she is having her own 'Black Oscars' instead.

Coca-Cola announce new Coke Platinum
By +Ian C
For many years people have used the popular soft drink, Coca-Cola, to mix with their alcoholic beverages. The phrase 'and coke' has punctuated many drink selections such as Jack, Captain, Bacardi, Kahlua and even Jagermeister, but many liquor snobs purists have said, "My whisky/rum/vodka is too good to mix with coke". Well Coca-Cola have listened and have come up with new Coke Platinum.

Father Wade Mackenzie of St. Martin's Catholic church in Pittsburgh, has stunned his congregation, and is gathering a strong viral following after his comments on personal grooming during last Sunday's service. While preaching about the sins of the flesh he surprisingly shared his interpretation of what God thought about trimming and shaving the pubic region.

Vietnamese Brothers demonstrate levitation sacks
By +Tina Cruris
30 years ago, a certain movie promised us hover boards by the year 2015. So far the technology has not materialised in a workable format, but they could be about to change thanks to Hoi Dong and Quan Tri Noi, two brothers from Vietnam who have recently demonstrated their levitation sacks, which appear to defy gravity without the need for any kind of magnetic track.

I know facebook is only 11 years old, and Adolf Hitler died 70 years ago, but can you imagine what his social media accounts would look like if the internet was around during World War II?

The return of the OxterBug
By +Tina Cruris
It would seem that I am becoming the resident entomologist at STP, with my post about avoiding mosquito bites last month and now this story about the resurgence of an insect thought to be eradicated. The Axilla Beetle also known as the OxterBug is a parasitic insect related to the head louse, which makes it's home in the human armpit, feeding on the blood of the host and laying it's eggs in the humid human equivalent of the Amazon rainforest.

New Jack Daniels for women, offensive?
By +Tina Cruris
With the liquor world getting more and more competitive, major labels are doing whatever they can to lure in more drinkers from other areas to maintain their market share. One such trend is the appearance and growth of whiskey liqueurs. Whiskey variants made with honey, cherry or cinnamon flavors are becoming more common and more sickly sweet, in a covert attempt to draw more women into the world of whiskey.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... or 3 decades ago in New Zealand, to be more accurate, a young, aspiring movie maker with an old 16mm video camera began filming what was to become the cult movie classic known as Bad Taste. That man was Lord of the Trilogies, Peter Jackson.

Do vampires really sparkle in sunlight?
By +Alexa Rankin
There have been some recent modifications to vampire lore thanks to the popularity of the Twilight books and movies, and TV shows like The Vampire Diaries. You may even say that they have been revamped (I'm not even remotely sorry for that one). The one modern misconception is that vampires are not only able to move around during the daytime, but they sparkle when sunlight hits their body.
