What got slapped 12 months ago - 10/16/11

Oh my, must be Sunday again because I found an email in my inbox this morning, reminding me about the ReSlap post. Honestly, the life of a satirical news blogger is not as glamorous as you would first imagine. When you have to squeeze comedy writing it in between work and school, and you don't get paid (much) then you know it truly is a labor of love. Especially at stupid o'clock on a Sunday morning after working late on a Saturday night. Anyway enough of my life, here is what we did this time last year. Either read on for my commentary or click the [archive link] and explore for yourself.

As usual, Brad was reviewing the weeks new music releases which included Sting and Montgomery Gentry. He never has a nice thing to say about anyone and this week was no exception.

Harold Camping was getting a rough ride last year with his numerous failed attempts to successfully predict 'The Rapture', but Ian C was able to give you some top tips on what to do when it does finally arrive.

Ian C was also highlighting what he thought would be the hot Christmas toys of the year for 2011 and for the most part he picked some good items, even though I would have done it a little differently.

Brad was demanding an apology from Transformers director, Michael Bay, for yet another bad movie involving those transforming robots, intent on using our own Earth as a battleground.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the owner of a private zoo released his menagerie on the unsuspecting public before shooting himself in the head? This happened 12 months ago in the sleepy town of Zanesville, Ohio.

This time last year, Brad finally admitted that he was a geek, but not in the traditional circus sense. More in the 'owning lots of geeky t-shirt' sense. He 'fessed up' and posted a bunch of his favorite designs here.

That's it. That's what we were doing 12 months ago. So much better than the drivel we put out now. Please someone help me. Take me away from STP and give me a better, higher paid writing job.
