Lions and Tigers and Bears Ohio

The sleepy Ohio town of Zanesville is under lockdown thanks to a crazy man who released his entire maniacal menagerie before shooting himself.

The private zoo owner, 61 year old Terry Thompson, had amassed a collection of some of the most ferocious animals on the planet, including Bengal tigers, black bears and cheetahs. Thompson also kept other African animals like giraffe and camels.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz, reported that as best as they can tell at leat 3 animals are still unaccounted for. A grizzly bear, a mountain lion and a monkey are still roaming wild somewhere in Ohio, possibly looking for a way to get to Madagascar.

So far most of the animals have been recaptured, killed or eaten by each other, but residents of the I-70 corridor are being warned to stay indoors and not to venture outside until every single creature is accounted for.

The Ohio DNR have released a statement reminding hunters in the area that while the bowhunting season has already begun, the firearm hunting season does not begin until November 10th and they recommend not shooting at grizzly bears with arrows, since bears have thick hides and bad tempers.
