Once you insert 3AA batteries, this little piece of plastic will instruct you to pull it, bop it, twist it or flick it, spin it and even shake it. This may sound like some kind of kinky sex toy but it is much more fun than that. Play with yourself or in a group.

Angry Birds: Knock On Wood Game

This popular phone app cash-in is designed for either 2 or 4 players. The aim of the game is much like it's digital predecessor. Slingshot the birds and take out the pigs. Angry Birds is selling super fast, but is expensive for what you get. This one will be sold out long before Christmas and e-bay profiteers will make a killing selling it to desperate shoppers for 3 times sticker price.

Disney Tangled Sing and Glow Light up Rapunzel Doll

It would not be Christmas without Disney and this is one of their most popular items so far this year. Wave a wand at the doll and her dress lights up and she 'sings' a 30 second clip from the movie. This is going to be one of those toys where the 3 AAA (included) batteries will NOT get replaced when they run out during the first part of January.

Perplexus Maze Game

This puzzle is going to be popular with parents who want to wean their kids off electronic games. No batteries, no LCD screens, no bleeping noises. But it still has an addictive quality. The aim of Perplexus is to get the ball from the start of the maze to the finish without it falling off the narrow track. A steady hand and a modicum of dexterity is required to get all the way to the end. Each challenge in this 3D labyrinth is sequentially numbered so you can measure your progress and compete against each other. It is worth it, just to get the kids away from the video games.
