AI tool helps men identify more than 8 colors

A fancy new AI tool allows users to identify all 16.7 million unique and individual colors using their camera phone so now men can express themselves beyond the basic 8 colors of the Pink Floyd album, The Dark Side of the Moon.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black and white are the 8 masculine colors as defined by the world famous album cover by Pink Floyd. Ironically pink is not one of the colors...

Obviously nobody can survive in this world with just 8 colors so guys use modifiers like light, dark and British Racing to add more specificity to their descriptions.

On the other hand women from birth have an on-hand knowledge of over 1000 color shades including mauve, aquamarine, clover, and cerulean. Above and beyond the simple variations of red blue and green with familiar names come the extended range of names created by Crayola, Behr paints, and fashion designers which include Burnt Umber, Macaroni and Cheese, and Tickle Me Pink.

The next tier of weird colors get even sillier, for example Goose Turd Green, Drunk-Tank Pink, Santa's Flesh and even Dead Salmon. I could write an entire post describing the multitude of amusing names used to describe subtly different shades of different colors.

Because nobody could possibly know the name of every shade of every color was why this AI skill was developed. The camera takes a snapshot of the color in question and correlates it to a 6 digit hex code which perfectly describes the exact color in a perfectly repeatable way. Not every micro variation has a ludicrous name attached to it, so the hex code is invaluable to describe the color to others in a standard format.

There is certainly a surplus of colors and color names for the average guy trying to describe his new shirt to another average guy. But, now with the help of AI, Mr A. can take a picture of his shirt, identify the hex code and the associated name if available. He can then share these details to Mr B. who is able to look up the color and see an accurate color representation on his phone.

OR he can just text a picture of the shirt to get a good enough result.
