Conflict over sports venue escalates

Normally disc golfers and skeet shooters can co-exist on this planet without any issues, but for two weeks during the year, in River Falls, Wisconsin, the two sports collide at Rock Springs Park. The 7 days on either side of the equinox, when summer ends and fall begins, means that the disc golfers and skeet shooters have to share the park since the sport seasons overlap.

Skeet Shooting and Disc Golf not co-existing harmoniously
Neither group are willing to compromise and adjust their season, so in just a few days the attrition begins. The main issue arises from the confusion caused by the similarity between the golf discs and the clay discs when in flight. The golfers are upset that their discs are being shot out of the sky, while the 'skeeters' are frustrated by wasting shots and losing points on plastic and not clay targets.

A top of the range golf disc can cost over $20 and to have it shot out of the air can be very frustrating, especially if it is heading right towards the target basket. Considering that a shotgun shell costs no more than $1, the golfers seem to be getting the rougher end of the deal, yet they are standing firm on their right to play.

What's that? What is disc golf? According to Wikipedia...
Disc golf is a flying disc game in which individual players throw a flying disc at a target. According to the Professional Disc Golf Association, "The object of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc."
According to me...
Disc golf is a waste of a Sunday morning whereby the participants throw frisbees at a target while drinking a 6 pack of Coors Light. By the fourth 'hole' everybody stops keeping score and it becomes a 'who can hit that tree in the stupidest way' contest.
I have not yet been subjected to either sport, but if given a choice, I would rather be behind the gun than infront of it, so my vote is for the Skeet Shooters. Use the box below to add your voice, or use the comments section to expand on your opinion.
