Annual Check In

It's time for our annual check in, see who is still around and who isn't. The good news is that all the old crew are still alive and kicking, although the kicks aren't as high as they used to be and the evening will be spent recovering with vodka and/or Aleve™.

Eclipse Glasses
This is the kind of humor we need on this site
(source: Stolen from google search)

This past Monday 3/4 of us got together to watch a layer of thick grey clouds obscure the celestial event of the year (so far). But at least there were some High Noons even though it was 1:30pm so not a total loss. We were supposed to see a 79% eclipse from our part of the world, but we experienced totality from sunrise until about 5:30pm when a patch of blue sky opened up to the North West. Brad, being our sciency, techy, geeky person used his contacts and got us some of those fancy eclipse glasses but he never kept the receipt so he was unable to return them after the non-event. The next eclipse on the US mainland is 20 years away and I doubt the glasses will last that long so we will probably have to buy more.

What else has happened since our last post? </rhetoric> not a whole bunch... We each had a birthday, some of us had one of those milestone birthdays, but honestly nothing major has happened in 12 months.

Ok, so if nothing has happened in the past, what does the future hold? Good question, and it deserves a good answer. Unfortunately, we don't have a good answer. Writing is getting tougher since all the good jokes have already been claimed, and our STP lives don't intersect often enough to make the site what it once was. Don't get me wrong, this is not a retirement speech, more of an excuse for getting bored with a hobby and leaving it in the closet next to the other hobbies which are also not shiny and new anymore.

Wow, this post went in a strange direction. It was supposed to be a fun filled recap of the last year but ended up as not that. I think when we finally get our second (3rd? 5th?) wind we should introduce some new features like Cat Picture of the Day, and Crypto Currency advise. Maybe bring back the monthly caption contest. What do you think? Yes you, the humble reader, trying to figure out what the actual fuck is going on here. What would you like to see on our pages that would make you come back for more, or at least stick around for a few minutes?

We have a comments section below for you to share your thoughts, or you can email us. I am sure there is a contact us link somewhere, but I don't visit this site often enough to know where it is, so when you find it, use it, and let us know where it is. Thanks.

Well, it's good to see you again, come back next year for our 15th anniversary spectacular, so long as someone remembers to pay the domain fees. And remember it's you visiting us and clicking "our sponsors" that pays for our domain fees although I am forbidden by policy to suggest or invite such behavior.
