New Harry Potter movie secrets revealed

by +Tina Cruris

Since last month's announcement that the ninth Harry Potter movie is scheduled for release in 2015, speculation has been rife about who will be returning and who will be joining the cast. In particular there is a lot of discussion about who the primary antagonist will be.

Will Harry Potter return?
Will Harry Potter be back?
The reason that there is so much guesswork around the story is the lack of literature regarding Harry Potter beyond his school years. Harry Potter author, JK Rowling, has not published anything about the boy wizard outside of his time at Hogwarts.

So far, only Helena Bonham Carter has confirmed that she has signed on for the new movie. HBC played the role of Bellatrix Lestrange, who was killed off in the last movie, leading Potterphiles to believe that the new movie will be a prequel, maybe centered around the lives of Harry's parents, James and Lily Potter.

The new HP movie may well be a prequel
If this is the case then it is doubtful that any of the young wizards we met in the first 8 movies will be back, since they would not have been born. This explains why Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are denying any involvement in a new Potter movie.
A prequel to the original Potter movies would expand on the history which has already been briefly touched upon during the movie series, the books and JK Rowling's online creation known as Pottermore. The origins of some of the supporting characters, including the Black family who feature prominently in the series, could be developed, and their 'future' actions explained.

Given the huge scale and success of the Harry Potter franchise, companies are falling over themselves to get their products placed in the new movie. Given JK Rowling's penchant for wordplay and puns in her text, anyone who wants their product in the movie must adopt the same linguistic twist to match her style. One such attempt came from the top selling tequila, Patron.

Not likely to make it into a movie with such a young audience
We will update this story as more details about the new movie become available. If you hear anything about it before we do then send us a message or leave a comment below.
