Kermit the frog joins Coldplay

Coldplay main man Chris Martin has burned out his vocals while recording the bands latest album, 'Ghost Stories', and has called on one of his friends to fill in with singing duties while he recovers from voice strain. That friend is none other than best selling recording artist Kermit the Frog.

Kermit is no stranger to the music scene with his #25 hit from 1979, 'Rainbow Connection', and he jumped at the opportunity to help out his buddy Chris.

We had the chance to talk to Kermit and he told us, "It's been a busy couple of months for me with the new movie, 'Most Wanted' coming out in about a week, and this is a great way for me to unwind. I love the music of Coldplay and often find myself singing their songs in the shower, now I can sing their songs on the stage."

Kermit also gave us a demo of the rehearsal of Coldplay's 'The Scientist'. It's a pre-production version so it's a little rough around the edges, but with a little studio magic the boys will make it shine. We added a promo picture and made it into a video short for your enjoyment.

It looks like Chris Martin will be out for about 6 weeks while his vocal chords recover. In theory he should be back with the band before the official launch of 'Ghost Stories' in May, but will the rest of the band want him back after working with Kermit?

Do you think Kermit is a good substitute for Chris Martin? Who would you like to see covering Chris Martin as Coldplay frontman? Let us know what you think.
