400 posts and counting

This is post number 400. Yippee!

Literal interpretation - one dimension of what we do

It's been a long road so far with many twists, turns and metaphors, but we have made it to our 400th post. Thanks to everyone who has taken a few moments out of their life to visit us. Especially those who visit deliberately and make return visits. I want to send out a special thank you to those of you who take the time to leave comments, in particular, those of you who leave spam comments with links to Ugg Boots and Porn, and waste my time having to moderate and delete your comments.

I know Brad, Tina and Alexa are all excited about this momentous event and I want to thank each of them for their contributions to the site. Big thanks also to former writers Menaj and Jack, as well as a couple of guest posters, John F. and Morgan David. It's not easy being funny and original 4 or 5 times a week, so we quit doing that and now we just post any old drivel that passes as satirical news. We also pad it out with 'reslaps' and other 'non-posts'.

Sometimes we hit comedy gold and get a couple of thousand visits to a single story, just like the recent "U2's Bono has town named after him" story which became our 5th most read post, just 2 days after it was published, and is now ranked #4 all time. Most other times the stories just curl up and die, with less than 3 dozen visits just like our 3rd ever post, "Buckyballs found in space" did back in July 2010.

Yeah! I know - we rock

The real celebration will happen in exactly 100 posts, when we hit the big 500. Who knows how long it will take to get there? Our output varies greatly depending on the weather, work schedules, inspiration and alcohol intake.
