Parents name child 'Hashtag'

At 10 pm last Saturday, the world welcomed a new baby girl. There is nothing more precious or beautiful than creating a child. And then, just to spite the splendor of this miraculous moment, you go and give the poor girl possibly one of the worst names ever created.

Why on earth would you even consider calling your baby Hashtag? Do you not realize that this child will be stuck with the name Hashtag Jameson (#Jameson for short) so unless an Irish Whiskey company sponsored the name as an advertising gimmick and compensated the parents, then this is a #dumbass thing to do.

Endless possibilities

This was not a move driven my smart advertising, this was a move driven by dumb parenting. No doubt Hashtag's parents spend a fair amount of time Tweeting and Facebooking, and that is evident by one of the status updates from Hashtag's parents after the birth, posted exactly as seen here. 

“Hashtag Jameson was born at 10oclock last nite. She weys 8pounds and I luv her so much!!!!!!”

This name is now the dumbest name I have come across this year, even beating out the previous leader which a friend of mine told me about. Now demoted to second place is the name "La-a", supposedly pronounced Ladasha. Third place goes to the Egyptian guy who in 2011 named his daughter Facebook, an obvious and unimaginative attempt at suing Mark Zuckerberg in the future.
