What got slapped 12 months ago - 2/27/11

It's so good to be back after a well earned break. I have certainly missed rehashing old stories in order to fill the gaps left by a lack of talent and new ideas. I am going to cheat a little and highlight a story from the previous week as well as review the stories from this time last year. The topical tale of The Oscars was a carefully written piece which barely avoided a copyright infringement suit from 'The Academy'.

And now back to this week, one year ago.

We were trialing a recurring feature called 'The NADSAQ Index', which was a weekly reflection of who was being an idiot in the news for that week.  There was a very good reason why the NADSAQ Index was dropped, click it and see for yourself.

Brad was revisiting Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which was released 25 years previously, asking 'where are they now?'

Ian C was reporting on how a penny pinching airline charged an overweight man for 2 seats, while Brad shared the cream of the new CD releases for the week, all with a Gwyneth Paltrow twist.

The best received post of the week was a story (written by me) about Cancer. Not the disease, the constellation, which was renamed thanks to the discovery of a new star in it's midst.

This used to be called Cancer
