Is it just me, or is Gwyneth Paltrow getting into everything these days? She is dominating this week's new releases, and the new Coldplay CD is not even out until Fall. (For those who don't know, she is married to Chris Martin from Coldplay.)
This is the 15th studio album in 30 years from the aging Athens folk rockers. Michael, Peter and Mike are back, this time with help from Eddie Vedder and Peaches (after all, Georgia is known for its peaches). Tracks include 'Mine Smell Like Honey' a story of Winnie the Pooh back when he used to dig for gold, and 'Alligator Aviator Autopilot Antimatter' a song about Michael flipping through the first volume of his new Oxford English Dictionary.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Stipe are buddies and he has been a guest editor on 'Goop', her e-newsletter.
Another Gleetastrophe as the Gleeks perform a bunch of songs from the surprisingly successful TV show. As usual NO ORIGINAL MATERIAL on this disc, it's all covers of Michael Jackson, Queen and Britney songs amongst others. Apparently The Glee Cast are now the most successful recording artist(s) of all time, beating Elvis, The Beatles, MJ and The Backstreet Boys.
Gwyneth Paltrow features on 3 songs on this disc.
This was originally set for a November 2009 release, then it was announced it would be out in June 2010. Then in May she told us that the album was too serious and she needed to go back and tweak it. And now the moment we have all been waiting for: Avril Lavigne's 4th studio album, Goodbye Lullaby.
The whole album has a stripped down, grown up mellow feel, light years away from her 2002 single 'Sk8r Boi'. Avril may be moving away from the 'Grrrl Rock' image but she will never shake the 'Wailing Banshee' image.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Avril Lavigne were both born on September 27th (albeit 12 years apart)
After 14 years in music and 10 minutes on Dancing with the Stars, 40 year old Sara Evans is becoming a popular performer. Her lead single from this CD 'A Little Bit Stronger' was featured in the movie 'Country Strong' so it was bound to be a hit.
Gwyneth Paltrow starred in the movie 'Country Strong'.
We don't normally include re-releases in this section, but when it is a classic such as this 40th anniversary edition of BoTW then it needs to be listed. 11 perfectly harmonized folk classics to chill out to, PLUS a bonus DVD to prove that 'Yes. That is Art Garfunkels real hair!'
What's that? The Gwyneth Paltrow link? Ummmm.
Gwyneth Paltrow's mom is Blythe Danner, who was in 'Meet The Fockers' with Dustin Hoffman, who starred in 'The Graduate' for which Simon and Garfunkel wrote and sang the music including the song, Mrs. Robinson.

Oh, man. You're right. She's everywhere! And the whole Six Degrees of Separation? Bet it only takes four for everyone to get to her. Seriously.
She is very strongly placed to have a low DoS number considering she was in Se7en and Iron Man, linking in to some strong co-stars.
