The second coming has already happened

There are many prophecies and stories regarding the second coming of the Messiah, but a growing group of people already believe that the Messiah has been reborn and is already walking among us. They believe that the new Messiah is none other than stage magician David Copperfield.

People who believe that David Copperfield is the reincarnation of the original son of God have named themselves Kotkinites, after David's surname of Kotkin, and they have even formed a church called the Holy Church of Kotkin. We spoke to Jerome Salmon, a founding elder of the HCOK about his beliefs regarding David Copperfield.

"David Copperfield was born to Jewish parents, as was Jesus. He has performed many miracles, some of them even as a young boy of 10. He has made the Statue of Liberty disappear, he has walked through the Great Wall of China, and even flown through the air while carrying a passenger. Also he has a disciple called Criss Angel. There is no doubt that David Copperfield is the New Messiah and he will lead us to salvation and peace. He will judge us all and evil will be smited (smote - ed.), and we shall all live on in peace and love."

I challenged Jerome regarding some of the less savory elements in Copperfield's history, like his suggested connection to Jeffrey Epstein and photos of him with Ghislaine Maxwell. He told me, "David, as the son of God, went to the pit of serpents with the intent of cleansing that forsaken island and bringing some bible justice to the pedophiles and cannibals and donkey sodomizers."

It seems that as with most religious fanatics, their belief is unshakeable, and little to no proof is required since it is a matter of faith. We absolutely respect Jerome's and his congregation's beliefs, even though they are absolutely absurd and have no grounding in any kind of fact except that David Copperfield, like the previous Messiah, is Jewish and can perform magic tricks, I mean miracles.
