What were you doing on July 22nd 2010? I know what I was doing. I was starting one of the most popular penguin related satirical news sites on the entire interwebs, and now 5 years later I am still doing it because I haven't made enough money to retire yet.

Honestly, I had visions of this post being full of throwbacks and reslaps and self congratulatory nonsense, but when it came to writing it, it never happened that way. Instead it happened this way.
If you want to see what we have achieved in the past 5 years then you can check back through our archives. If you read through our collective works chronologically you watch the site develop and change as time passes, and those with a keen eye for detail may even be able to spot the point where it stopped being fun for us and became a chore.
Traditionally a 5th anniversary means you give a gift made of wood, so if any of you want to give us wood then we're ok with that.
