Another boss bans the cross

You may be aware of the situation in Great Britain right now, where two women are taking the government to the European court, contesting their right to wear a cross or crucifix at work. Both of them were told that the cross on their necklaces contravened dress codes, and could not be given an exception on religious grounds since the wearing of a cross is not a requirement of the Christian faith.

Not required to be a Christian

Another case of bosses banning crosses has now occurred, this time closer to home, in Newcastle, Wyoming. The owner and manager of Woody's Food Center, Woody LaCruda is alleged to have threatened to fire cashier, Daisy Janes for wearing a cross while working at the store.

Daisy told Slap the Penguin that LaCruda visibly recoiled at the sight of the cross and demanded that she remove it or find another job. He had never complained about her other jewelery and she could not understand why this particular necklace was so distasteful to him. "It was almost like it was causing him pain", she added. "He never gave me a reason why. He just hissed and told me to take it off and get it out of his store"

LaCruda was not willing to talk to us, however we did obtain a file photo of him from a Twilight Saga fan forum. We also discovered that Woody changed his last name to LaCruda in November 2008. He was previously known as Woody Carlson.
