What got slapped 60 months ago - September 2010

By +Tina Cruris

Oh boy, another month where we were doing nothing 12 months ago, so I will do what I did in August and reslap what we published 5 years ago, while we were young and funny and cared about what we did on here.

Anyway, happy September to all of you. Brace yourself for a fit of giggles and maybe a little panty wetting because back in 2010 we were really funny. The stories may not have been as well written, and the design was a little spartan, but the material was solid. Read through the teasers from yesteryear, and click on the headline of anything that interests you to be taken to the full story. The top 5 posts from September 2010 are:

#5 UN appoint alien ambassador
The United Nations wanted to make sure that should we be visited by aliens from outer space then we would be ready to meet and great them with the respect and courtesy that they deserve, so they ave the job of Alien Ambassador to Dr Mazlan Othman. She is 'The Leader' that the aliens will request to be taken to.

Back in 2010 American Idol was still going strong, but the departure of a certain Mr. Cowell was the beginning of the end for the popular talent show. Click the headline for a reminder of who they brought in to replace the peanut smuggling impresario.

#3 Top 10 misheard lyrics
I love these Top 10 posts, but this one was a real gem. Discover our favorite misheard lyrics from artists such as Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, and Sir Elton John. Then vote for YOUR favorite.

I never really understood why this post was so popular, but it attracted a lot of visitors. It must have been the accompanying image that brought them in because the story is pretty lame. It's no surprise that Jack Stropp doesn't write for us anymore. Take a look and decide for yourself.

Our top post from September 2010 is a great piece of political writing from one of my favorite STP writers, Jack Stropp. He totally nailed this post about how 'No Child Left Behind' is flawed and is dumbing down future society. Take a look at his politicomedy in action. We miss you Jack.

That's what we were doing 60 months ago. Have you noticed a difference in style or quality over the last 5 years? Share your opinions or insults in the comments section below. Good or bad, we love to hear from you.
