So close to 2 million visitors

Hey Slappers, take a look over there and down a bit, down a bit more, down, down. there. That number is how many visitors have visited this site since it began all those years ago. As you can see we are quickly approaching 2 million visitors. Just imagine if we were charging $1 admission, we could have retired on those earnings, but we decided that free speech should be free.

If you happen to be reading this as our 2 millionth visitor, take a screen shot of the page, showing the counter, and leave a comment and we will see if we can get you a t-shirt or a balloon or something to celebrate that amazing milestone.

We appreciate each and every one of our visitors, except for the AI bots ripping off our posts and the g**gle web crawlers. Also all those people that steal our hand crafted images and post them as their own on Pinterest without linking back to us. Tina told me that she does not appreciate a particular visitor named Michael H. who makes a nuisance of himself in her backyard.

So, yeah, thanks everyone. Lets get to 2M but before we do, let's party like it's 1999999.

We have received a ridiculous number of emails from concerned readers regarding our lack of contribution to their daily life. Honestly we want to write satirical news stories to brighten your day and make you shake your head with disbelief until you remember that it is (mostly) all made up, but in the words of someone once, "Truth is stranger than fiction", or "You couldn't make that shit up", and there is no way we can write plausibly fake news stories to compete.

It's time for our annual check in, see who is still around and who isn't. The good news is that all the old crew are still alive and kicking, although the kicks aren't as high as they used to be and the evening will be spent recovering with vodka and/or Aleve™.
