Playboy goes with the Flo

Progressive spokeswoman Flo will be on the cover of the December edition of Playboy which hits newsstands later this month.

Playboy online asked it's subscribers to vote for who they would like to see as the December covergirl. The magazine hadn't even considered Stephanie Courtney, the comedian who portrays Flo in the Progressive Insurance commercials, but an overwhelming write-in vote saw her take the lead just days before the voting closed.

Flo beat out some tough competition including Keira Knightley, Beyonce Knowles and Kate Beckinsale who was the favorite to win and had already been booked for the photoshoot.

Although Stephanie was unavailable for interview, we did receive the following statement. "This is a great leap forward for the ordinary woman. Take that Hollywood."

    Wow! That insurance company really IS Progressive. Due to the JCcon, most companies'd fire for even being associated in any way with such a magazine, even if only in one fully clothed pic inside.
